Regal, AMC cancel 'Daisy' screenings

The Regal and AMC chains have canceled screenings of the "Electric Daisy Carnival Experience" doc in the wake of Wednesday's disturbance at the feature's Hollywood premiere. Chains both cited "the incident in Los Angeles" in their decision to yank the pic from their screens. Feature, directed by musicvid helmer Kevin Kerslake and mounted by Insomniac Events, producer of the live EDC mega-raves, had originally been scheduled for an Aug. 4 digital presentation on 522 U.S. screens. Riot-equipped police were called in Wednesday after fans swarmed the street outside the preem at the Chinese Theater (Daily Variety, July 29). Three were arrested for felony vandalism after a bottle-throwing melee that saw three squad cars overturned. The mini-riot and subsequent screening cancellations are new black eyes for EDC, which took heat after a teen girl's drug-related death at the L.A. Stars Aim For Bargains At NY Charity-fashion Event

WATER MILL, N.Y. -- Kelly Ripa, Rachel Zoe and Emma Roberts had their strategies mapped out as they joined other stars on a mission to find the best bargains at a high-fashion shopping event for charity on Saturday. Celebrities such as Donna Karan, Gayle King and actor Chord Overstreet also attended Super Saturday, which raises money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Jimmy Choo, Theory, Piperlime.com and One Kings Lane were among the 200 brand names that discounted their goods for the cause. You have to get a map and plot out the places you want to go, celebrity chef Katie Lee said. You have to have a mission and a game plan. Lee said shes scored amazing deals in the past, thanks in part to her hard-core focus: I got about five Tommy Hilfiger bikinis for about twenty dollars and I still wear them and I love them, and I got cover-ups too. Ripa had an alphabetical method to her buying spree, instead of jumping around from designer to designer. Once again acting as a co-host, she was excited to get a chance to shop something that eluded her last time. Last year it did not go my way. I had a wedding to get to, so I was able to do the press line, but by the time I got off the press line, I was ushered into a car to go to the wedding. It was really sad, she said. Roberts, who also co-hosted the event, said she was out the lookout for anything by the line Chloe. Reality star, stylist and new mom Zoe did double duty by hosting a booth, as well as doing some shopping for clients. Zoe said she never has buyers remorse over her Super Saturday purchases. HOLLYWOOD -- The main focus was about the youth at Somaly Mam Foundation's Project Futures launch party in the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hillsides, where thesps including AnnaLynne McCord and Ron Livingston collected to consume, drink and lift money to assist stop sexual slavery.McCord, who pulls from her "90210" group of followers to assist raise money for that foundation, remembered managing a 5K race rich in schoolers: "I do not run. I do not do this, to ensure that was interesting -- Used to do reach the conclusion line, however the whole time I had been like, 'This is perfect for Somaly! Somaly, Somaly!' Shine cleans up in Central, Eastern Europe

LONDON --- Shine International, the sales and distribution arm of
shingle Shine Group, has agreed deals for seven format commissions in
Central and Eastern Europe.In Ukraine, TET TV is to make local
versions of "Date My Mom" and "Tough Love."Also included are a Russian
version of "Style By Jury," a re-commission of "Single Moms" in the
Czech Republic, and Polsat's order for season two of "Must Be The
Music."In the region Shine has done strong biz on "Must Be the Music,"
a hit for Polesat, while "MasterChef" scored for Nova Channel in
Croatia.Local productions of "MasterChef" are due to bow later this
year in Romania and the Ukraine.Following sales mart DISCOP, Shine
International said it now has more formats in production in Central
