If you just want to be a songwriter, can you get someone else to sing for your demo?

I want to be a songwriter, but I can't sing very well. I know it's a
good idea to make a demo of the songs you wrote if you want to be
discovered, but most people sing it themselves and I don't want to do
that. Can I write the songs and get someone else to sing them for my
demo and still be discovered as a songwriter?
